Présentation - Fabrice Didier

Fabrice DidierFabrice DIDIER graduated as an engineer from the Ecole Polytechnique of Paris in 1990. He then got a PhD in solid state physics from the University of Orsay (1994) on a subject dealing with thin films, already in close cooperation with Saint-Gobain.

He then joined Saint-Gobain as an R&D engineer in 1995. In 1998 he was appointed Industrial Manager for the coating activity in Saint-Gobain Glass with location in Cologne (Germany).

He was then appointed Deputy General Manager of Saint-Gobain Glass Benelux in 2001, and General Manager of Saint-Gobain Glass Germany in 2005.

In parallel he participated to the emergence of the Solar activity in Saint-Gobain (creation of AVANCIS and of Saint-Gobain Solar Systems).

Since January 1st, 2009 he is Chief Executive Officer of Saint-Gobain Solar.

Saint-Gobain Solar combines all Saint-Gobain businesses in the solar sector. Present over the whole value chain, the Saint-Gobain Solar strategy hinges on three independent activities:

  • the manufacturing and sale of high-performance mirrors designed for solar thermal plant operators and high-tech components for PV modules (special glass, high-performance plastics…);

  • the production, through its Avancis business, of thin-film PV modules based on CIS technology (Copper, Indium, Selenium), designed for distributors and integrators;

  • the design and marketing, through Saint-Gobain Solar Systems, of PV solutions for residential homes, office buildings, industrial and farm installations.
